This Cancellation Policy explains the terms and conditions for canceling donations, event registrations, and other transactions with Swami Anand Theertha Trust.

2. Donation Cancellation

As a charitable organization, donations made to Swami Anand Theertha Trust are generally non-cancellable and non-refundable. Once a donation is successfully processed, it is immediately allocated to our programs and cannot be reversed except under specific circumstances.

Important: Donation cancellations are subject to strict timeframes and conditions as outlined below.

3. Cancellation Timeframe

✅ Immediate Cancellation (Within 30 minutes)

If you realize a mistake immediately after making a donation, you may request cancellation within 30 minutes of the transaction. Contact us immediately via phone or email.

Success rate: High (if payment is still pending processing)

⚠️ Within 24 Hours

Cancellation requests made within 24 hours of the donation will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Valid reasons include duplicate payments or incorrect amounts.

Success rate: Moderate (subject to approval)

⏰ Within 48-72 Hours

Cancellation requests made between 24-72 hours may be considered only for exceptional circumstances such as unauthorized transactions or technical errors.

Success rate: Low (requires substantial evidence)

❌ After 72 Hours

Cancellations are generally not accepted after 72 hours, as funds are typically deployed to ongoing programs. Please refer to our Refund Policy for alternative options.

4. How to Cancel a Donation

To request a donation cancellation, follow these steps immediately:

Subject: 'URGENT: Cancellation Request - [Transaction ID]'
Provide: Full name, transaction ID, donation amount, date & time of donation, and reason for cancellation
Await confirmation: We will respond within 2-4 hours during business hours

5. Event Registration Cancellations

For paid event registrations, the following cancellation policy applies:

More than 15 days before event: 100% refund (minus processing fees)
7-14 days before event: 50% refund
Less than 7 days before event: No refund
Event cancellation by us: Full refund within 10 business days

6. Non-Cancellable Items

Donations made with full knowledge and intent
Completed event registrations (within 7 days of event)
Sponsorships and commitments already acknowledged publicly
Donations for which tax receipts have been issued and claimed

7. Cancellation Processing Time

Approved cancellations will be processed within 7-10 business days. Refunds will be credited to the original payment method within 5-10 business days thereafter. Total time: 12-20 business days from approval.
